Dr. Eva Grunfeld holds the Cameron Chair in Cancer Control Research and is director of the Cancer Outcomes Research Program, a physician, health services researcher, and professor of medicine at Dalhousie University. She holds many peer-reviewed grants and has conducted a wide variety of research spanning the continuum of cancer care.
Dr. Grunfeld has built the COR team from the beginning, and her contributions have enhanced Nova Scotia’s capacity to conduct high quality health services research. She is interested in the entire spectrum of cancer control and continues to explore issues of cancer survivorship as well as end-of-life care. Her recent studies include: examining the issue of follow-up care of breast cancer patients; evaluating ways to streamline the diagnosis of patients with symptoms suggestive of cancer; and indicators of quality end-of-life care. Dr. Grunfeld hopes to translate findings from this health services research into improved care for cancer patients.
