Cancer Care: A Guide for Patients, Families and Caregivers
This orientation booklet is a practical guide to your cancer journey. It provides information that will help you cope with your disease. It provides answers to many common questions about cancer, its treatments, the cancer care team and where to get more information. Patients and their family members coming to the QEII Health Sciences Centre may also want to access the Patient and Family Guide to the QEII.

Cancer Information Materials
Capital District Health Authority has created a number of cancer information materials that are in use across the province. You can access these resources via the Patient Education section of the Capital Health website.

You can also find Medication Information Sheets for cancer medications on our Systemic Therapy application that provides information on how to take the medication, precautions to take when using this medication and any side effects.

Living Well With Cancer Series
Cancer Care Nova Scotia's Living Well With Cancer series includes information about a wide range of cancer issues. Ask your healthcare team for the information sheets that would be helpful for you.

Canadian Cancer Society Publications
The Canadian Cancer Society provides information on a variety of different challenges that living with cancer might bring, as well as information on specific types of cancer.

Cancerview - The Truth of It Video Series provides you with video series from a diverse group of Canadian individuals who have had cancer, or are caring for someone with cancer. The video series answer many questions and describe many experiences regarding the cancer journey.

Information in Other Languages
There are a number of reputable sources of cancer information in languages other than English.

We recommend the following Canadian resources:
• Canadian Cancer Society or call 1-888-939-3333
• Cancer Care Manitoba
• Vancouver Coastal Health 

You may also be interested in accessing resources outside of Canada. Please note that there may be differences between Canadian information and the information you read on a website outside of Canada. Talk to your healthcare team about how this information applies to you.

The BC Cancer Agency and the Canadian Cancer Society both have lists of websites in languages other than English:

The US National Library of Medicine also provides information in multiple languages.
