Attention: all surgeons, surgical oncologists, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, pathologists and allied care providers: The Spring Surgical Oncology Network CME, “The principles and multidisciplinary management of metastatic cancer,”  will be held on April 10, 2010. For information, please contact Sandra Cook at or at 902-473-3675.

Clarification: The November 2009 issue of this newsletter featured an article about a project to introduce distress screening for cancer patients. The article failed to mention a key partner and project funder, the Canadian Partnership against Cancer. Together with the Canadian Partnership against Cancer and other provincial partners including the district health authorities, CCNS is developing a tool to identify distress earlier in patients and help them cope better while living with cancer.
