CCNS Excellence Awards 2014 – November 26th

Mark your calendar for November 26th and plan to join CCNS and your colleagues from across the province to celebrate our collective accomplishments and ongoing work to provide Nova Scotia cancer patients and families with high quality treatment and care.

2014awardsThe celebration begins at 4:30 p.m. in the Bethune Ballroom, Victoria General Site of the Queen Elizabeth II Health Sciences Centre. The date was chosen to precede the annual fall Provincial Cancer Network meeting, which is scheduled for November 27th and 28th.

“We hope a 4:30 – 6 p.m. timeframe works for those who are travelling to the city and for those who work in HRM and are finishing their work day,” said Cathy Blades, CCNS Board Member and Chair of the Excellence Awards committee for 2014. “We know everyone is busy, but we believe it’s important to take a moment to consider and celebrate our collective efforts for Nova Scotia patients and families.”

This year awards will be presented in two categories: excellence in patient care and leadership. Two awards will be presented under the excellence in patient care umbrella, one recognizing a health professional or health professional group and the other recognizing a volunteer or volunteer group. One award will also recognize leadership excellence.

Since the Excellence Awards were introduced in 2009, CCNS has recognized the contributions of 12 amazing individuals and six talented groups or teams. These individuals and teams were chosen from many worthy nominations and were honoured for leadership, innovation, and excellence in patient care.

We hope you can join us on November 26th to celebrate the recipients of the 2014 Excellence Awards and all health professionals, administrators, and volunteers who work tirelessly for Nova Scotia cancer patients and families
