Congratulations to the Cape Breton Cancer Centre on the opening of the new Chemotherapy Preparation Suite within its clinic. Verification and preparation of chemotherapy is now being performed on site; just a few feet away from the treatment room. This new state-of-the-art facility is ideally placed to enable integration of the Pharmacy team and the clinical services they provide with cancer centre staff and patients.

Congratulationsto Dr. David Henderson, Medical Director, Palliative Care for Colchester East Hants Health Authority and Ms. Dale Orychock, former Director of Palliative Care (now retired),Cape Breton District Health Authority on receiving Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medals in recognition of their “outstanding commitment to the advancement of hospice palliative care in Canada. They were among 32 Canadians, who were presented with the medal by the Canadian Hospice Palliative Care Association during their Annual General Meeting, which was held in Montreal on October 11, 2012.
