In Nova Scotia, the Healthy Eating Action Group, an alliance of government, non-government and not-for-profit organizations, has released the province’s first healthy eating strategy. Healthy Eating Nova Scotia identifies several goals including increasing the consumption of fruits and vegetables; increasing the healthy food choices for children and youth; and increasing the availability and affordability of healthy food for all Nova Scotians. As well, the latest Canada’s Food Guide puts greater emphasis on eating fruits and vegetables.
