Regional Resource Network

The Regional Resource Network was founded in March 1994 as a working group of the Cervical Cancer Prevention Program (CCPP). The Network is composed of women in various communities across the province who liase with the Program and with women in their communities to provide information about Pap test screening and bring related concerns of women and their communities to the attention of the Program. The Network now consists of 50 members in 18 counties with a volunteer coordinator who is also a member of the CCPP’s Education Subcommittee. The Network meets as a group twice a year in Halifax for a day long meeting during which time they have an opportunity to share successes and challenges with one another and attend information sessions on new developments within the Program. From time to time, the Network hosts regional meetings to replace one of the large group meetings in Halifax.

Regional Resource Network persons are public health nurses, physicians, nurse practitioners, educators, members of women’s groups such as the Women’s Institutes of Nova Scotia and lay persons. They often are involved in organizing Well Woman Clinics and Women’s Health Days in their areas, are vital to the success of the annual Pap Test Awareness Week in Nova Scotia, and act as a friendly, trusted resource to local women and other health professionals.

The CCPP welcomes new members, please call 1-888-480-8588 to join today, or to inquire about contacting a member in your community.
