How can a Cancer Patient Navigator help you and your family?

Patients have told us that going through cancer treatment is often like trying to find their way through a maze. Cancer Patient Navigation is a service that helps guide cancer patients and their families through this maze.

If you do not have a CPN in your district, click on the links below for information that will help ease your cancer journey.

To help guide you through the system, a Navigator can:

Get answers to your questions and concerns.

Work with your family doctor and cancer specialists to connect you to the cancer services you need during and after treatment.

Help prepare you for your visit to the cancers centers in Halifax, Sydney or within your own health care district.

Help you and your family understand cancer by providing reading material, videos, Internet sites and cancer information lines.

Tell you about support groups and services in your community.

Call the Canadian Cancer Society Information Line at 1-888-939-3333 for more information about what’s available in your community.
