The Interprofessional Skin Cancer Program: Prevention and Care
The Interprofessional Skin Cancer Program: Prevention and Care module provides health professionals with an overview of non-melanoma and melanoma skin cancers. It is an accredited course and includes discussions on:
- prevention
- detection
- referrals
- diagnosis
- treatments
- outcomes and
- ongoing management
This module is aimed at all health professionals, and draws specifically on common experiences of Family Practice Physicians, Massage Therapists, Pharmacists, Nurses and Physiotherapists. Health professionals are provided with an overview of non-melanoma and melanoma skin cancers including discussions on prevention, detection, referral, diagnosis, treatment, outcomes and ongoing management. The instructor is available on-line, to post questions for discussion, to reply to answers regarding the case studies and to respond to queries. This course has been accredited by the College of Family Physicians of Canada and Dalhousie University, Division of Continuing Pharmacy Education.
