Provincial Cancer Service Delivery Review
Provincial Cancer Service Delivery Review - Fall 2014
The Department of Health and Wellness, through Cancer Care Nova Scotia
, has engaged third party experts to review the current status of cancer care service delivery and supports within Nova Scotia and to provide recommendations on a model for the provincial delivery of cancer care in the province.
The proposed model will consider clinical, academic and administrative leadership models, accountability frameworks, governance, monitoring, and evaluation. The consultants will also consider the linkages and communication, education and other support services needed between specialist and community-based care. In addition, they will consider the roles of both Cancer Care Nova Scotia
and the Nova Scotia Breast Screening Program as provincial programs of the Department of Health and Wellness and make recommendations as to how these programs will fit within the model.
