Total Hours- 24 (3 hours per week)-Tuesdays from 6pm – 9pm
February 21, 28, March 6th, 13th, 20th .
On Saturday, March 10th Class will be from 8:30am-4:30pm .

This is the 14th year that VON of Greater Halifax course has been offered through VON Greater Halifax Community Support and Volunteer Services. All participants of the course go through a screening interview. As part of the training course, various ‘expert’ speakers give their time to present their respective disciplines and topics including: pain and symptom management, spiritual care of the dying, body mechanics, grief and bereavement- to name a few. Our VON nurses and palliative care volunteers who have taken the course in past years have given hundreds of hours of palliative care to people in their communities across HRM.
All who take the course seem to have one thing in common: they want more palliative care education so that they can more skillfully help meet the needs of our palliative care clients in the community.
